Rev Reuben Ng
Introduction
Rev Reuben Ng is the current District Superintendent of PLMC and the Pastor-in-charge of Faith Methodist Church.
As someone who never expected God to use him, Pastor Reuben is still constantly amazed at the grace and love of God. Simply hoping to be a channel of that same grace and love, his only desire for his reputation is to be known as an “unschooled and ordinary” man who “had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13).

Dearest friends and co-labourers of God, I greet you in the Name of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Please pray along with me:
O God our Heavenly Father, we thank You that You have opened doors for us in our community. Sometimes, Lord God, these doors that You have opened do not seem apparent or obvious to us. So, we ask that You heighten our senses to see and discern where these open doors are. We don’t want to miss the opportunities that You have given us to partner You in bringing Your hope and Your restoration to the people whom You love. Give us the eyes to see where the open doors are. Give us the ears to hear the cries of the people. And when You point out the open doors to us, help us to proceed through those open doors with boldness and confidence.
There are doors that have already been opened and remain open. There are those of us who have yet to proceed through these doors. O Lord God, give us hearts to go through those doors – the doors that lead us to the needy families in Blk 223A Serangoon Ave 4, Blk 8 Lorong Lew Lian, Blks 201-210 Serangoon Central; the door that leads us to the homeless and the rough-sleepers in the neighbourhood; the door that leads us to the children in Hope Student Care Centre; the door that leads us to the elderly in St Luke’s Eldercare Centres and ECON Medicare Centre in Recreation Road; the door that leads us to the women and their children in the Anglican Family Centre; the door that leads to the migrant workers; the door that leads to the youth in B12.
As we go through these doors, Lord God, help us to persevere through those doors. As much as we know that You would want us to go through those doors, we also know that the enemy will do all he can to prevent us from doing so. He will set up obstacles and problems for us. We ask that You give us endurance and the will to get through or around those obstacles to bring hope and restoration to the people behind those doors. We also acknowledge that we will not be able to do this on our own but will have to rely on You to help us clear those obstacles to the good works You want us to do. Give us the power that only You can give through Your son Jesus Christ.
And it is Jesus whom we shall proclaim in those open doors, Heavenly Father. Without Jesus we can do nothing. So, we shall abide in Him even as He abides in us, and His words abide in us. As we do our good works, help us to do what Jesus would do and what Jesus would have us do. Help us to love the people behind those doors as Jesus would have loved them. Help us to serve them and minister to them just as Jesus would have done. Help us not to miss the opportunity to proclaim Jesus and show Jesus to them.
We pray all these things and humbly ask You for all these things as we step through the open doors. And it is in Jesus’ most holy and precious name that we pray. Amen!
