PRAYER FOCUS

CORPORATE PRAYER POINTERS

PLMC Prayer Concerns (Leadership)

A) Leaders Retreat, 24 Sep, PLMC

  • Gathering of leaders from Cell Ministry and other Church Ministries

  • PIC to share vision and direction for 2023 and beyond

  • Time for feedback, answering of questions and forming unity of spirit

Pray:

  • PIC will continue to hear from God and follow His leading

  • PIC’s sharing will be clear, and yet open to feedback or discussion

  • Everyone will take ownership of vision/direction, and run together in unity

B) Local Conference, 27 Sep

Pray:

  • God’s intended leaders for official appointments in church ministries will be chosen

  • These leaders will be anointed by God to effectively and faithfully serve another year

PLMC Prayer Concerns (Faith & Sexuality)

C) Faith & Sexuality Talks, Oct to Nov

  • For invited church leaders first; more talks and opportunities in the future

  • To educate and discuss on PLMC’s understanding and position on Faith & Sexuality

  • Immediate issue: Christian response to the repeal of Section 377A

  • Related issues: implications on marriage, family life and education on sexuality

Pray:

  • Government will not be hasty in repealing 377A without safe-guarding traditional positions on marriage, family life and sexuality education; next goal of LGBTQ activists/groups

  • PLMC leadership will be able to find consensus and unified response to ministering to individuals & families struggling with LGBTQ issues

  • Pray over 5 things suggested by PIC that every Christian could do: 5 E’s

1. Entreat God

2. Educate self

3. Express Voice.

4. Equip own Children

5. Establish Safe Places for everyone, including for LGBTQ people

PLMC Prayer Concerns (Outreach)

D) Alpha Course Holy Spirit Weekend, 10 Sep

Pray:

  • Questions about the work of Holy Spirit answered through video presentations and discussions; resulting openness of heart to experience the Holy Spirit.

  • Pray for anointing of power. Life-changing encounters. Salvation of seekers.

E) Christmas Musical Preparations

Pray:

  • God’s anointing and leading continue to be upon Andrew Tan, Paul Seow and team to helm this evangelistic event; preparations to go on smoothly

  • Holy Spirit to be at work in hearts of seekers who will eventually come for this musical

F) Mission Trips and Community Outreach Initiatives

Pray:

  • For fruitful mission trips as borders are opening in post-pandemic; few teams went

  • For outreach fervour to support initiatives like “Have a meal on PLMC”

World Prayer Concerns

G) Ukraine-Russia War: indirect war between “superpowers”

  • Ukraine managed to repel many Russian attacks but the war will still continue.

  • Ukraine received weapons from US and NATO allies, while Russia is trying to buy weapons from North Korea and China.

Pray:

  • For peace makers to continue on stalled negotiations. Situation will not escalate to war between “superpowers” in Asia, with Taiwan as ”Ukraine”

  • God’s protection and providence upon the victims and refugees of war

  • Churches to bring God’s comfort, love and hope to everyone, including Russian victims

H) Price Inflation and Economic Recession in Post-Pandemic Time

Pray:

  • God’s wisdom and help for countries like Sri Lanka to earn and save, or to borrow

  • God’s mercies on the poor to find donations; not suffer beyond what they can bear
