40DOB - What's Project Safe Place?

40 days of focused spiritual growth to

  • Grow Deeper in Word, Spirit, and Community,

  • Go Further to Extend God’s Kingdom

What's Project Safe Place

A guided process for the cell to discern the people God is calling them to provide a safe place to. This includes:

  • Listening to the people whom the cell is to serve

  • Planning a project to be a safe place for the people (e.g. inviting migrant workers to your cell for dinner, bringing a blessing packet to the needy in the community)

  • Executing the project

  • Developing a sustainable plan to continue to be a safe place to the people

40DOB - Ideas for Project Safe Place 1

We’ve talked about what the 40 Days of Blessings are about and how we will go about them. The focus on daily devotions, weekly sermons, cell studies and Project Safe Place will lead to spiritual growth. Watch the video to better understand how you can do Project Safe Space during the 40 days.

40DOB - Ideas for Project Safe Place 2

Last year at Christmas, the Outreach Ministry took the theme of “Christmas At Your Doorstep” literally, and many of you were involved in decorating, packing and distributing gifts and goodie bags to more than 1,700 households and individuals in the estates around PLMC and our Outreach arms.

This has given you a taste of what Project Safe Place can be like, but it does not only have to be at Christmas. Watch this video and be inspired.

40DOB - Coming Soon!

40DOB

The 40 Days of Blessing campaign starts on 18 Jul. We are doing this to live out our mission to be a Family Blessed to Bless the Community and the Nations. The 40DOB will also help us Grow Deeper in Word, Spirit and Community and Go Further to Extend God’s Kingdom. But in order to do this, we need to do it with others; we cannot do it alone as individuals. If you are not yet in a cell, do join us at this link:

We have prepared a Participant’s Guide for you that contains the daily devotions, weekly memory verses and cell studies. There is space for sermon notes, and journaling after each devotion, and also for Project Safe Place planning. During 40DOB, we will be suspending the ROAD Bible Reading Plan as the daily devotions will take its place.

Some of you are excited to embark on this journey, while others are still hesitating. Whatever you may be feeling, let’s take it to the Lord in prayer. Here are a list of items to pray about.

Community Within

1. Thanksgiving

We thank God for guiding the 40DOB Committee under the leadership of Ps Vincent (Committee Chair) since last November. We also thank God for the close collaboration among the Committee members and ministry leaders. We are thankful that the 40DOB materials are ready to go into print. Pray that the labour of love would result in transformation of many lives and families both within and without the church.

2. Outreach Ministry

Pray that the Holy Spirit will guide and lead the cells in their planning for Project Safe Place – to identify whom and how to bless and develop meaningful partnership with our Outreach volunteers to bless our current outreach beneficiaries. Pray that the cells would carry out Project Safe Place with open minds (be inclusive), open hearts (project continuity), and open hands (generosity).

3. Cell Ministry

We thank God for the many church members and regular worshippers who have signed up to participate in 40DOB. Pray that every participant would be able to experience the five aspects of cell life – Welcome, Worship, Word, Wonder and Works – that are crucial in helping us grow to love God and others more each day.

Community at Large

1. Hawkers

Pray for more practical help and support be given to hawkers as many struggle to keep their stalls open, for the pandemic has significantly altered consumer habits, especially the younger ones who are now used to having food delivered to their doorstep.

2. Healthcare Workers

We thank God for healthcare workers all over the world who have worked long hours in stressful environments to care for those who have been infected by Covid-19 or suffering from other illnesses. Pray for their safety, renewal of strength and mind, and favour upon them. Pray that Christian healthcare workers would shine brightly where darkness seems to dominate the environment in which they work.
