40 DAYS OF BLESSING
Week 2 Memory Verse:
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” - Luke 19:10
Blessed to Be a Blessing
Dear Church Family,
We’re off and running on the 40 Days of Blessing! And what an opportune time to begin these 40 days, for in the darkest moments of our nation, we as the church must shine the brightest.
Today, you should be reading Day 4 of the daily devotionals. If you haven’t, or have missed out on the previous days, start today on Day 4 and catch up on the previous days as you have time over the next few days.
You should also be starting in a 40 Days of Blessing cell group (if you haven’t), and memorising your verse this week before 25 July.
Then on Sunday, be sure to join our worship service online to learn how we are to Bless by Listening - listening to God and listening to others.
If you have a friend or loved one who is not in a 40DOB cell group, go ahead and invite them to one. At the very least, invite them to church online this Sunday to be blessed by God’s Word.
If you have not joined a 40DOB cell group, it is still not too late! Register at https://tinyurl.com/40DOBSIGNUP now!
You will be blessed!

Praise and Thanksgiving
We praise and thank God, our Father in Heaven, who is the help and deliverer of the poor and needy. We thank God for the privilege of participating in His mission to restore the image of God in each person by being a conduit of His blessings to all people in our community. We pray for a spirit of boldness to make disciples of all those we reach out to and those whom we are blessed to bless.
Hope Student Care Centre
1. Pray for God’s protection over the students as they have not been vaccinated yet.
2. Pray also for the teachers to have the strength to care for and love the students for another term.
Food Distribution Ministries
1. Pray for the residents staying in the rental flats in Blk 223A Serangoon Ave 4, the poor and needy residents living in Blks 201-210 Serangoon Central, and the poor and needy residents that MY Manna ministers to – that they may come to realise that the food being distributed to them comes from the love of our Heavenly Father poured out through the donors and volunteers; and that they will eventually acknowledge that there is no god like our God.
2. Pray for the volunteers and cell groups carrying out the food distribution – that God will fill them with wisdom and boldness to make disciples of the residents and invite them into God’s kingdom even as they bless them with the food.
Cell Groups & Project Safe Place
1. Pray that God would lead the cell groups to carry out Project Safe Place with open minds (to bless those whom God wants them to bless), with open hearts (to bless the beneficiaries on a more regular basis and not just for this one time), and with open hands (to be generous in blessing others with what God has blessed them with).
With the nation in heightened alert in our fight against the virus, we understand that there will be anxiety, frustration, sadness, anger, helplessness and a whole slew of other emotions.

Care Hub is formed to support and journey alongside our members / worshippers whose lives and livelihoods have been affected by this crisis. The end goal of Care Hub is pastoral care, for someone to journey with them and remind them they are beloved of God and to find strength in God to face the challenges.
As each individual has different needs, Care Hub serves as a one-stop helpline where an individual can obtain support in the church in various areas. If you have been affected by this crisis, Care Hub is here to support you.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do I need to be a worshipper at PLMC to obtain help for Care Hub?
As long as you have been worshipping with us, either on-site or online, you are welcome to obtain help from Care Hub. We seek to journey with you as a family of faith during, and beyond, the COVID-19 period.
2. Is it compulsory for a Care Befriender to journey with me?
Yes, it is. We are not designed to journey alone. The church is the Body of Christ and each of us is a part of the body. Having a Care Befriender in this journey is to experience the community and interdependence of our Triune God. God is never alone; we need others too.
3. How long will the Care Befriender journey with me?
Each person has a different journey. Each journey is unique. In general, the Care Befriender will journey with you 3 – 6 months. Let these be a meaningful journey of deepening in God through the company of another.
4. Can I request for pastor to be my spiritual mentor/counsellor?
Yes, you can make the request, but we are all called to be a priesthood of believers hence most likely a mature believer will be assigned to journey with you. Trust that it is God’s hand that has led you thus far, and He will ensure that you are mentored or counselled by the right person with the necessary spiritual gifts for you.
5. I am not affected by COVID-19 but I need someone to talk to. Do I send my request through Care Hub?
No, Care Hub specifically caters to those who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and its ramifications. Please contact the relevant ministry that caters to your need directly. Contact details can be found at the end of this site, under ‘Our Ministries’.
COVID-19 has brought about an unprecedented economic crisis affecting lives and livelihoods. Yet, in every crisis, there is an opportunity to demonstrate Christian love and unity.

We hope to encourage more Methodists to prayerfully consider teaching as a calling or for those who are considering full-time ministry, they may want like to find out more about being a Christian Ministry Staff (CMS) in our Methodist Schools.
