Physics Department
Physics Department is primarily engaged in teaching the UG and PG students. Additionally, faculties are doing research on various emerging area of experimental and theoretical physics. These include condensed matter physics, high energy and nuclear physics, astrophysics, photonics and quantum optics.

Departmental library: More than 1500 books accessible to faculty members and M.Sc. students.
Computer room: 10 computers with internet and computing facility and a printer, copier and scanner accessible to P.G. students and faculty members.
Seminar hall: A.C. seminar hall with 100 seating capacity and equipped with LCD projector, audio-visual equipments and smart board.
Future Plan
Improve quality of M.Sc. students through smaller class and continuous assessment.
Increase R & D output to work towards achieving short-term goal of minimum 3 research papers (in peer-reviewed international journal) per faculty member.
Achieve quality in R & D by producing research papers (in peer-reviewed international journals).
The Department plans to achieve the same by overcoming the present resource crunch in terms of faculty and space. With the hope of filling of existing unfilled faculty positions and receiving more approved permanent faculty, the Department would be able to sustain the ongoing programmes and take up newer challenges.
Departmental Achievements
One Minor research project (Funded by UGC).
Board of Studies/Research Development Committee: Currently three faculty members of the department, Dr. Ramji Pathak, Mrs. Abha Singh & Mr. Amit Srivastava are the members in Board of Studies of Purvanchal University.
Mr. Amit Srivastava is a member in Board of Studies for Physics in Agrashen P.G. College (Autonomous), Varanasi.
Dr. Ramji Pathak is the convenor of the Research Development Committee for Physics of Purvanchal University, Jaunpur.
Dr. Ramji Pathak is the member of B.Sc. (Math) admission committee of the college.
Mrs. Abha Singh is a member of Gender Sensitization Committee Against Sexual Harassment (GSCASH) of college.
Dr. Sudesh Kumar Singh is Asst. Superintendent in College Examination Committee.
