Adult Awards

Don't forget to recognize the adults for their outstanding contributions to the development of your Catholic Youth Ministry. There are several recognitions available. Adult Leaders are entitled to wear the BSA Adult Religious Knot if they receive the St. George recognition.

After downloading and completing the Adult Nomination Form, the completed form can be scanned and emailed to the Archdiocesan Committee Chair, or arrangements can be made for it to be mailed. Detailed information on the all the awards can be found here.

Please Note: all Adult awards nominations should be approved by their respective APCCS County Chairperson and that these awards will be presented at the annual Scout Mass.


  • Bronze Pelican - used to recognize individuals in your local dioceses for their significant contributions. Nominated through the Archdiocesan Committee Chair.

  • The St. John Neumann Emblem originated in 1973, and named for the founding Father of our Parochial School System. It is given in recognition of those individual Scouters who have provided limited service to Catholic Scouting Programs for a period of at least three (3) years.

  • Brother Barnabas - national recognition to recognize for long and meritorious service. Nominated through the National Catholic Committee on Scouting.

  • Miter Society- is a recognition given to any adult who financially supports, in a significant way, the promotion of the Saint George.

  • Jerusalem Cross - used to recognize Scouting in the Catholic Church participants who return to their dioceses and complete a mission project benefiting Catholic youth of their community. Programmatic award; details are available at the link.

  • Silver St. George - national recognition for the hard work and diligent hours supporting the Catholic Youth Ministry at the national level. Nominated through the National Catholic Committee on Scouting.

  • St. George - used to recognize individuals in your local dioceses for their significant contributions and many years of support for the Catholic Youth Ministry at the local level. Nominated through the Archdiocesan Committee Chair.
