What to bring?

Bring a lunch or a snack and water to start your busy afternoon off right!

Bring a chaplet, or rosary, for Chaplet of Divine Mercy later in the day.

Bring your curiosity to learn about this modern day saint!

Each Scout is asked to bring a canned good or non perishable food item to donate to a food bank!

Maybe some money for the gift shop???


What to wear?

Your uniform and a warm coat

We are collecting $5.00 per family upon arrival.


When are we going?

Saturday, December 16th, 2023


What is the schedule for the day?

12:25pm--Arrival at the National Centre for Padre Pio, 111 Barto Road, Barto PA, 19504. The

Center advises scout families to arrive as close to 12:30 as possible—they have a large

program in the morning and attendees will be departing starting at 12.

Upon arrival go directly to the Spirituality Center. You may begin to eat your lunch or snack

once settled there and continue during the film.

12:35-1:00—Film, followed by a short talk and Q&A on Padre Pio and the founding of the

center.

1:15-2:00—Break, followed by a guided tour of the Spirituality Center and Our Lady of Grace

Chapel

2:15-3:00—Break, then off to the museum for the Scavenger Hunt

 3:00-3:20—Return to the chapel for the Chaplet of Divine Mercy

3:30—Depart or family time until the center closes at 4:30.


Note:  About 3 miles away is the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine St.,Bally, PA 19503, 610-845-2460, www.mbsbally.org . MBS church has confessions from 3:15-4 PM and Vigil Mass at 4:30 if you would like to remain in the area a bit longer to extend your pilgrimage at this historic parish which was formed over 275 years ago!

Annual Catholic Scout Retreat – was held at the Eucharistic Revival September 30, 2023 - The annual retreat is held one weekend in a fun, outdoor scout centered environment to help our youth grow in their faith with their fellow scouts. This year will be one day event and will include AAD & PPXII BOR’s. 

Archdiocesan Scout Mass – Saturday May 4, 2024 11 AM-  Archbishop Perez will be the celebrant at the Cathedral Basilica of SS Peter and Paul - Scouts celebrate Mass and are presented their Light of Christ, Parvuli Dei, Ad Altare Dei & Pope Pius XII emblems. Unit and adult recognition is conferred to those showing exemplary efforts to promote our Catholic faith in Scouting. Units – Cardinal Krol & Pope Paul VI awards, Adults – Bronze Pelican, St. John Neuman, St. George.  

St. George Trek - Congratulations to Michael Lagrutta (T547) & Gregory Oberholzer (T154) as our 2022 Trek participants.

Apply now for a scholarship to represent the Philadelphia Archdiocese on the 2024 Trek. The St. George Trek is the biennial, high adventure, backpacking retreat program for Catholic Scouts and Venturers administered by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting in cooperation with the Boy Scouts of America's Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, NM, Scouts must be 15 years old July 1st 2023 and in high school in the fall of 2023. Philly Catholic Scouting provides scholarships to cover all Philmont fees for the 2 scouts chosen. Application and deadline will be posted soon.
