The annual retreat a fun, outdoor scout centered environment to help our youth grow in their faith with their fellow scouts. This year will be one day event and will include AAD & PPXII Board of Reviews.

Archbishop Perez will be the celebrant at the Cathedral Basilica of SS Peter and Paul - Scouts celebrate Mass and are presented their Light of Christ, Parvuli Dei, Ad Altare Dei & Pope Pius XII emblems. Unit and adult recognition is conferred to those showing exemplary efforts to promote our Catholic faith in Scouting. Units – Cardinal Krol & Pope Paul VI awards, Adults – Bronze Pelican, St. John Neuman, St. George.
St. George Trek 2026
The National Catholic Committee on Scouting (NCCS) and the
Archdiocese of Philadelphia Catholic Committee on Scouting (APCCS)
announce the next St. George Trek, to take place on the mountain trails
of Philmont Ranch, NM, July 1-16, 2026.
Additional information, requirements to participate and application forms can be found in
the NCSS website at:
Candidates should be emotionally mature adolescents who will be at least 15 years old
and no older than 18 years old by July 1 of the year they plan to go on the Trek.
Participants must also have the physical health and stamina to backpack on the
mountain trails of Philmont. The St. George Trek is a one-time only experience for
youth. Previous youth Trek participants are not eligible. NO exceptions can be made to
these expectations and requirements.
A female crew is planned pending sufficient female registration. There would need to be
at least six female Scouts committed for the Trek to form an all-female crew. Individual
crews on the St. George trek are not co-ed.
Please, apply as soon as possible, no later than Saturday, October 4. This is a direct link to

Using his link, potential participants should
complete and submit the St. George Trek Participant Application form by the deadline.
When submitted, a link to the Participant Application will be sent to the APCCS committee.
The APCCS St. George Trek selection committee will review applicants and select 2 Scouts.
The fee for the 2026 trek will be funded by APCCS for the selected applicants.
Each participant will be responsible ONLY for travel costs and incidental expenses.

Apply now for a scholarship to represent the Philadelphia Archdiocese on the 2026 Trek. The St. George Trek is the biennial, high adventure, backpacking retreat program for Catholic Scouts and Venturers administered by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting in cooperation with the Boy Scouts of America's Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, NM, Scouts must be 15 years old July 1st 2025 and in high school in the fall of 2025. Philly Catholic Scouting provides scholarships to cover all Philmont fees for the 2 scouts chosen. Application and deadline will be posted soon.
