Our values define who we are, how we play, and how we represent our club. They apply to every player, every grade, every week, on and off the field.
1. Respect
We respect our teammates, coaches, referees, opponents, volunteers, and the game itself.
What this looks like in action:
● Speaking to referees through the captain only
● Supporting teammates regardless of selection or form
● Respecting club facilities, equipment, and volunteers’ time
● Upholding Rugby Australia and NSW Rugby codes of conduct
2. Courage
We show courage by competing physically, mentally, and emotionally, especially when it’s hard.
What this looks like in action:
● Tackling and carrying with commitment
● Making the tough decisions under pressure
● Being honest in feedback and accountable conversations
● Stepping up for the team when required
3. Fellowship
We are one club. We look after each other and value connection across the club..
What this looks like in action:
● Welcoming new players and supporting injured teammates
● Staying connected before and after games
● Respecting the role of mentors, leaders, and senior players
● Contributing to a positive, inclusive club culture
4. Accountability
We take responsibility for our preparation, attendance, effort, and behaviour.
What this looks like in action:
● Consistent training attendance and punctuality
● Preparing physically and mentally for sessions and games
● Owning mistakes and learning from them
● Understanding that selection reflects commitment, form, and standards
5. Service
We give back to the club that gives us the opportunity to play.
What this looks like in action:
● Helping with pack-up, set-up, and club duties
● Supporting juniors, volunteers, and club events
● Representing the Emus positively in the wider community
● Leaving the club stronger than we found it
Wearing the Jersey
When you pull on the Penrith jersey, you represent:
● Your teammates
● Those who wore it before you
● Those who will wear it after you
● Members, Supporters, Sponsors, Volunteers
