Penny Steinke started playing horseshoes at a young age. Penny was a WI State Jr. Girls Champion in ‘94, ‘95 and ‘96 and a World Champion in ‘95 and ‘96. She won Wisconsin State Doubles in 2006, 2018, 2020, and 2021. Her team won the Team World Championships in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023. She was the WI State Pitcher of the Year in 2007, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2023, & 2024. She won the Wisconsin State Women’s Championships in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, & 2024. 2024.
She is the current Women’s World Champion!
She was inducted into the Wisconsin Horseshoe Hall of Fame in 2022 for her outstanding horseshoe pitching and her promotion of the sport. She won the Earl Paulson Team World Award in 2024 for her outstanding accomplishments in Team World Competition including being the 1st person to win Team World 4 times in a row.
Penny is a National Board-Certified Teacher teaching kindergarten at St. Matthias Catholic School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She loves reading, writing, playing horseshoes, spending time with family and friends, watching movies, vacationing, painting, crafting, going for walks, cheering at home games for the Milwaukee Bucks cheering squad, and watching all sporting events especially the Bucks, Brewers, and Packers.
Penny lives in Eagle, Wisconsin with her kitties, Nala & Ducky.
