Even though this story shows the beginning of my writing career, I utilized these tools to create a plot, characters, and conflicts. This class helped me with practice prompts and exercises that pointed out my weaknesses so I know where to improve. This story is set in a post-apocalyptic society where two girls set off trying to find the main characters' parents. They're decoding a journal along the way that's supposedly leading them in the correct direction.

Prior to this class, I had never drafted a screenwrite before so this class challenged me beyond my comfort level.

It is a piece of fiction that follows the main character as she struggles to make the decision whether to stay home where she knows she doesn't belong or to venture out into the unknown. This story explores a coven-like culture and plays with physical and bodily components as a way of storytelling. I wanted the culture in my story to be acceptable for both believability and respect.
