Memorials
In Honor of Deceased Peace Corps Volunteers
Any friend or family member can donate a memorial brick to the Peace Corps Legacy Plaza in honor of a deceased Returned Peace Corps Volunteer or PC staff member who has served our country. Such a donation would hold meaningful benefits as it provides a distinct and dignified tribute. The engraved brick would be a tangible and enduring acknowledgment of the individual's service to their nation and the pursuit of global peace.
Placed within the Peace Corps Legacy Plaza within a National Service Park, this memorial would serve as a powerful symbol of remembrance, embodying the values of the Peace Corps and immortalizing the Volunteer's or PC staff member's contributions.
For those PC volunteers who also served in the AmeriCorps or Military, friends or family are welcome to add those dates of service to the individual's brick in recognition of their extensive national service. The memorial brick would grant family and friends the opportunity to express their gratitude in a personalized lasting manner and contribute to the broader theme of collective dedication to fostering a more harmonious and interconnected world. In this way, the donated brick would become a meaningful and lasting memorial to the RPCV or PC staff member and to the ideals of peace, cultural understanding, and collaboration that the Peace Corps and other forms of national service represent.
A website that keeps track of Peace Corps Volunteers who have died during their service can be found [here].
