I believe education is an ongoing process and I am always seeking new ways to develop and grow as a professional in the physical education field. Professional development can take place in a variety of ways including webinars, conferences, social media (Twitter, YouTube, etc.), podcasts, and professional learning communities. I continue to learn more each day through these communities and the sharing of resources, ideas, and best practices. I strive to learn as much I can in order to give my students the quality physical education they deserve. Scroll down to see some of the professional development I have participated in in the past.
Provides a forum for PE teachers to learn from each other by sharing best practices, problems of practice, and feedback on resources for PE instruction and engaging students and families during in-person, blended, or remote learning. As I attend more OPLC sessions I will create and continuously update a OPLC folder.
OPEN created the Teacher Learning School to provide professional learning to in-service and pre-service teachers. Currently, they offer three professional development modules; The Academic Language of Invasion Games, Social and Emotional Learning For Physical Educators, and Aligning Depth of Knowledge to Grade-level Outcomes.
The #PhysEdSummit is a FREE online conference put on by Health and PE professionals for Health and PE professionals.
