Choose a silhouette that matches your sketch
The max height of your project will be 6 inches. Create a chipboard guide to help keep the shape of your project.
Typically coil vessels begin with a a slab or coil base upon which they stand. However, you may choose to build off a sturdy pinch pot instead
A coil is a hand rolled rope of clay that can be used for construction, design elements or to help meld 2 pieces of clay together.
Coils should remain the thickness of a marker or larger to create a structurally sound piece.
Using the coil as the basis for construction, consider the ways in which you can cut, bend, spiral, twist or even braid the ropes of clay to create a variety of textures & patterns
Smoothing the exterior coils is optional.
