DO NOT use your charcoal pencil like this to make value!
Use the SIDE of your charcoal pencil like this!
DRAW WHAT YOU SEE!
Draw n fruit or vegetable with shading. This is just a "pre-drawing" I will use this drawing to see how much you have improved at the end.
Visually break down the object into parts. You will use all 4 VALUES using black and white charcoal.
Put the values on the page. There should be 4 distinct values (white, light grey, dark grey, and black).
Use your blending stump and add more charcoal as needed. Both your sphere and the smooth value scale should have SMOOTH transitions from one value to the next.
For the final drawing, you will draw another fruit or vegetable again!
Remember to DRAW WHAT YOU SEE.
You must include the object and its shadow.
Remember to use BOTH pure white and pure black in your value drawing!
No value scale or smooth value scale is required.
