Perceptual Data

Surveys were conducted in Spring of 2022 to all stakeholders in our district. We used this data to identify areas of strengths and areas that need improvement. Below are the results of the surveys:

Grades PK-2 Survey Results


My teacher helps me learn new information.



Most of the preschool through 2nd grade students reported that their teachers helps them learn new information.


Only 58.8% reported positive feelings about taking tests. Test preparation and building confidence in testing will be an area of focus.

Grades 3-5 Survey Results:

I know the four school-wide behavior expectations in our school.




All students in grades 3-5 know the four school-wide behavior expectations--Positive, Respectful, Responsible, Safe.

Slightly more than half of the students reported feeling important in school. The four school-wide behavior expectations are intended to teach not only positive behavior, but also create meaningful connections between students and teachers.

I feel like I am important in my school.

Middle School/High School Survey Results:

I feel that my parents support and are involved in my education.


A vast majority of Paxton middle and high school students recognize the involvement of their parents in the education process.

Approximately 1/3 of middle and high school students reported not having an adult they feel comfortable talking to at school. The four school-wide behavior expectations are intended to teach not only positive behavior, but also create meaningful connections between students and teachers.


There is an adult at school I feel comfortable talking to if I have a problem.


Teacher Survey Results:

I am allowed creativity within the structures of the curriculum.


An overwhelming majority of teachers feel the freedom to be creative within their curriculum. Allowing teachers to comfortably teach provides a greater feeling of empowerment.


Most middle and high school teachers recognize the importance of incorporating real-life applications in lessons creates engagement and buy-in from students.

I incorporate real-life applications throughout my lessons.


I feel supported by the administration.



Just over half of the teachers reported feeling supported by the administration. Maintaining positive communication and high expectations will continue to be an area of focus.

Support Staff Survey Results:

I feel that I have a good relationship with students.



All Support staff report that they have a good relationship with the students that they are working with.


Support staff play many roles in the school. Properly defining each person's role with clear expectations will create a productive and supportive work environment.

I feel supported when dealing with student discipline issues.


Parent Survey Results:

I believe extra-curricular activities are an important part of my child's experience.



Every parent survey response recognized the importance of extra-curricular activities in their child's education. Paxton is able to offer many extra-curricular activities for students with varying interests.


Preparing students to positively contribute to society is one of the most important roles a school plays.

I believe my child's educational experience at Paxton Schools is preparing him/her to successfully contribute to society.

I believe that my child(ren)'s teacher(s) communicates with me as needed.


Communication between parents and teachers is critical for student success. Paxton Schools maintains general communication via social media and push notifications. Teachers will continue to communicate directly via phone calls and emails.


Preparation for state testing is important and the results of the test help teachers guide learning. The results of the survey show that parents are more interested in the daily happenings of their child's school-day.

I believe that the results I receive from my child(ren)'s state tests are important.
