Below are the NSCAS ACT results for Grade 11 comparing District and State percent proficiency.
Statement: Science generally has the highest rate of proficiency followed by Math and English. Although below the state percent proficiency levels, Math and Science district scores follow the state trend line closely with Math showing the least amount of disparity. English historically followed the state trend line, but there is a greater disparity in scores in the most recent testing year: 2021-22. We would like to note that the 2021-22 testing class is our smallest class in the school with only nine students. A small population size can drastically change the percent proficient.
A number of strategies have recently been implemented to improve NSCAS ACT scores. Sophomores now take the PreACT every fall. Juniors have accessibility to ACT Online Prep. We have also added an ACT prep class to our schedule following John Baylor's On to College curriculum and this will become a required class for Juniors in Fall 2023.
