Below are the NSCAS results for Grades 3-8 comparing District and State percent proficiency.

Statement: Most classes have met or exceeded the state percent proficiency since data year 2018-19. There is more variability in the ELA results than in other content areas. A new curriculum, EL Education; was implemented in 2019-20. This curriculum focuses on research and writing. We are aware of the fluctuation in test scores and have begun supplementing in lower elementary to also include foundations of reading. The Science of Reading is being used in grades K-2. Teachers in grades 3-5 have scheduled more reading time in their day.

Statement: The testing year after COVID saw significant variation in results. The new curriculum was not fully implemented before shutdown. Adjustments were made to curriculum to help with learning loss after our return to school in Fall 2020.
