Uniform Policy

"Nothing worth having ever comes easy."

Uniform Wearing and Make-Up Inspection Policy:

The provided NJROTC uniform is worn every Thursday unless specified otherwise by the NSI, Senior Chief Wean.

The care and maintenance, including cleaning and pressing of uniforms, is the responsibility of the cadet. Laundry instructions are printed on a label sewn inside each piece of uniform clothing. Please follow those directions! “Military Creases” are preferred for all uniform shirts and are required for all members of the Drill and Inspection Team.

Uniforms are to be worn all day while in school except during your Physical Education (PE) class, where you are required to dress out in the school PT uniform during that class. NJROTC uniform wear is not an excuse to not dress out for PE.

Not wearing your uniform properly throughout the school day reflects poorly on you, the NJROTC unit, and the United States Navy. Failure to respect that uniform and its proper wear will result in no credit being given for the inspection that day.

If you are legally absent from school on a uniform day, you can make up the uniform day on any day within the first three days of your return to school the upcoming week. Uniform days cannot be made up after that three day period. Illegal absences cannot make up missed uniform days. Cadets cannot make-up missed uniform days on Fridays due to PT where the cadet is required to dress out.

If you are a member of a team or activity, and your team is wearing their sports jersey for spirit prior to a game on uniform day, you should wear your NJROTC uniform any day prior to the spirit day, to gain full credit.
