Patuxent High School NJROTC

"Nothing worth having ever comes easy."

What is NJROTC?

The Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) was established in 1964 for High Schools across the United States. The program is supervised by retired officers and enlisted personnel from all branches of the service, but the program is run by the cadets. NJROTC emphasizes growth as a citizen, leadership skills, confidence, discipline,  loyalty, and patriotism.  This program is not designed as a recruiting office, it’s main goal is to encourage cadets to attend college.  There is no military obligation whatsoever. Classroom learning can be amplified by drill competitions, sea cruises, marksmanship training (on a team), and much more. Several different subjects are taught throughout the course of each year of High School, including Naval History, Oceanography, Navigation, Drill, Maritime Geography, and much more!
