In 2022, three dedicated sections of GE 1000 are being offered Aug 22-25, 2022 9:30 AM - 12:45 PM. This GE 1000 meets the requirement for GE 1000 in the fall 2022 curriculum.
GE 1000 course summary:
The new incoming students are officially called Kean students of Computers Science/Information Technology. During this time, the new students are introduced to their school and have their paws wet regarding the Kean University campus and what it has to offer to students.
Students would learn from the College Life and Student Organizations to be more involved in Kean and have the whole experience of a college student. They would build or have a better understanding of their study skills and time management, being that college is a different environment for them. The incoming students will also inform about new opportunities to take full advantage of and give them the tools they need to succeed and have everything they need as college students instead of figuring it out independently.
A new environment for the incoming students means that they would need to know their environment in which students can familiarize themselves with the campus environment. They would also better understand that Kean offers way more than just education; they can offer opportunities and build connections or bonds with people they meet at Kean University.
An introduction to the Cougar Pathway to Success if the new incoming students cannot know what to do during their years at Kean to have the whole experience and have a sensation of getting every opportunity at Kean. Students would also have an introduction to a pathway to graduation on what their goal to accomplish before they graduate and have an introduction to research for them to experience and be able to learn about programming before they head on taking their courses for coding, getting their paws wet before their journey begins as a Kean student at Kean University.
The New Student Orientation wouldn't be completed without problem-solving and the power of teamwork with students they will be working with or be friends with in the next four years studying the same or similar courses. Students would have a sense of what comes ahead of them when it comes to the major they are willing to explore, either Computer Science or Information Technology, or have a program overview of what's to come for them during their time here at Kean University.
