Year 2

We are very much looking forward to welcoming your children into year 2 and the journey they will take in the year ahead with our exciting curriculum. We begin the year exploring the world, learning about the countries in the United Kingdom and its surrounding seas. We then learn about coastlines and what physical and human features we would find there. Our journey continues by investigating historical ‘movers and shakers’ and their impact on our world today. Throughout the year, we will also become scientists, learning about habitats, materials, animal, plant and human survival. We plan to take the children on some exciting trips including to Warwick Castle and West Midlands Safari Park.

We aim to ensure that your child has a happy and engaging year, whilst also striving for exceptional outcomes in learning, progress and achievement as we work towards end of KS1 Assessments. We ensure that the children are well prepared for these assessment and strive to make them an enjoyable experience for our Griffins.

We look forward to inviting you to join us in school to work with your children at our termly parent events and to celebrate your child's learning throughout the school year. The Year 2 team are excited to get to know the children and to work closely with you to ensure your child has a happy and successful year.
