During this breif learn experience me and a group of 2 other boys worked in the Cargo Special Ops division which specilised in documenting, fixing and measuring military vehicles to be transported by air.
We were tasked with a specialised job of finding a more efficient way to measure and take surface area from a specific Humvee which need to be transproted by a V-22 Osprey.
My team broke up the diffrent parts of the assignment and my part was to find a way to protect the vehicle surface area reader which is a device that the tire roles over to find the down wards pressure from the tire tracks. Since the surface area reader had so much weight on it, it was very possible that it could rip or snag and this would not be good since it was expensive equiptment.
I had to find a fabric that was both durrable and would protect the sensor but also allow for the track to be read through it so it had to be maluable as well.
The way I tested this problem was using plato to simulate the pressure scanner which then allowed me to cover it up and then test which covering matirial both protected and gave a good reading.
