Text Blaze is a tool that can be used to create shortcut phrases. This is especially helpful for repetitive text use and for templating text.
By clicking on the button below, it will take you to the text blaze website where you can sign up. You can add this as a chrome extension. Once logged in, you can hit the plus button to create a new shortcut. Once a shortcut is made, it can be used in any text field in chrome.
When creating a shortcut, you will label the shortcut and then choose a key shortcut. It's recommended that you use a "/" to prevent the phrase accidentally getting used when you are normally typing. For instance, if you used HPI as the keyboard shortcut rather than /HPI, anytime you typed HPI, such as patient's hpi consisted of sharp, shooting leg pain with 6/10 on pain scale....., it would add the shortcut phrase when you typed hpi. You wouldn't want this as it would cause something to be typed that you didn't want to be there.
Additionally, make sure each shortcut key is different as it might not work properly otherwise. For instance you wouldn't want /HPI and /HPIfoot as the first one would get used each time you tried to type /HPIfoot, so make sure they are all differentiated.
Below are examples of how to make a shortcut, how to avoid the errors mentioned above, and how to use once made.
