Our stewardship—the careful management of everything God has entrusted to us—our time, talents, resources, relationships, and the environment.
God owns everything: All creation belongs to God. (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 24:1).
We are managers, not owners: Like Joseph in Genesis 39, we are called to oversee what God places in our care with integrity and purpose.
Faithfulness and accountability: Jesus emphasized this in the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30), where stewards are expected to use their resources fruitfully and give account to the Master.
Holistic responsibility: Stewardship extends beyond finances to include our time, spiritual gifts, relationships, and care for the environment (Genesis 2:15; 1 Peter 4:10)
Generosity: Giving cheerfully and sacrificially reflects trust in God’s provision (2 Corinthians 9:6–7).
Service: Using our gifts to serve others builds up the church and honors God (1 Peter 4:10).
Creation care: Stewardship includes caring for the earth, animals, and communities as part of God’s creation mandate (Genesis 1:28).
While we all have stewardship responsibilities, the Stewardship Committee is our main focus for stewardship at OSHPC.
