Councils of the Presbyterian Church (USA)

Presbyterian polity

is the system of church government used by Presbyterian and many Reformed churches, built on shared leadership, elected elders, and a graded series of councils that govern together. It emphasizes accountability, representative decision‑making, and the belief that Christ alone is the head of the Church.
