It is possible to buffer the wand with a sword swing to do additional damage if the enemy is vulnerable to the wand
Arrows, the Better Boomer
You can shoot arrows to pick up any item that is dropped on the ground by an enemy
Snakes and Frisbees
When fighting Lanmola and Moldorm, if you kill one of the snakes and exit the room, when you re-enter, the other will be gone - the same works for a Digdogger that splits into three parts - if you kill one and leave, they will all be gone
Easy Come, Easy Go
A lot of times in Levels 1, 2 and 3, you can find keys/items on the floor, so skip fighting rooms of hard or high hp enemies and see if you can get what you need for free. This can apply to later levels too - see what you can find before committing to really hard rooms with poor equipment
Hero On a Half Tile
You want to fight Wizzrobes, Lynels, Moblins and Goriya on half tiles, above or below them, on the right hand side of their sprite - this will allow their projectiles to wizz by you, doing no damage - Blue Wizzrobes will not fire at you at all if you follow this course of action as well, as they magically cannot see you, simply by staying a half tile to the right of their sprite or a half tile below their sprite - you can still be hit by projectiles on the horizontal plane, it’s just that blues will not fire at you
Caution: Wide Load
On the other hand, when fighting against Darknuts, you want to stay on full tiles, as they have a tendency to turn on a dime, and if you are on a half tile, they are going to run into you
Lightning Reflexes
When faced with a tough room, sometimes the best option when trying to tackle it is to not hesitate and just rush it - good examples are trying to block clip in a room with a blue lanmola or when fighting darknuts. Second guessing yourself is a sure way to get ded
Enemy Grab Bag
If a room is a mix of easy and hard enemies, try clearing the easy ones, leaving the room and then re-entering - it’s possible that the hard enemies are lower on the spawn table and they will be replaced by easier ones. This is a great way to remove blue wizzrobes and pol’s voice
Smoke the Dongo
Most already know, but for those that don’t, you can force bombs off of Dodongo, by making the bomb smoke explosion happen near Dodongo’s face. There are two ways to do this efficiently
Stand on a half tile in front of a Dodongo moving horizontally and drop a bomb - if it’s on the half tile, they will not eat it
Feed Dodongo a bomb, then quickly drop another so that it explodes before they can eat it, stunning it so that you get your bombs
There is the possibility to NOT get a bomb, if it just so happens that the Dodongo is the 16th enemy in a row that you’ve killed without being hit - in this case, you will get a fairy, and will do so from every Dodongo until you kill another enemy, as Dodongo itself doesn’t not increment the counter
Blast-proof Shields
When bombing darknuts, follow the pictures shown to be effective
The only thing that matters is the direction Link was facing when you drop the bomb and the direction the darknut is moving when it goes off
Give Em’ the Slip
When stuck in single tile corridors with Darknuts, you can stand at the top of the tile, face down and sword as the Darknut moves to you - this will put them into i-frames and allow you to move through them
Gannon Spawns / Pattern
Gannon can have several different spawn locations in the room he is in. If it’s an unfavorable one, and you entered through a bomb wall, or can bomb out of his room, you can change the pattern by moving through some other rooms with enemies. The same thing goes for going back to him - if you take the same path, you will always have the same spawn, so by clearing out a room and going back into it, then going to Gannon, or taking a different path, you can change the spawn.
This link will show you how Gannon moves. It’s a great thing to watch to help you understand what you are working against.
