Operation Smile is a student-led initiative dedicated to supporting the mental health of patients during hospital stays. We know extended hospital stays strain mental health just as much as physical health, yet, struggles like depression and anxiety often become over looked. Our goal is to bring comfort and joy through tailored care kits; each being designed for specific hospital units, such as pediatrics, oncology, post-op. recovery, etc. Every kit includes thoughtful items, handmade friendship bracelets, and personalized cards created by students. By planning fundraisers, crafting messages of encouragement, and assembling care kits, students involved in an Operation Smile chapter not only brighten patients’ days but also strengthen their connection to the community while earning valuable service experience.
