Students rated as “proficient” demonstrate an entry-level expertise in advanced practice competencies and clinical reasoning skills. In comparable programs, the top 25% of students perform at the level of a proficient practitioner. During the patient interview, there are a number of opportunities to provide patient education and empathy. The opportunities listed below are those identified by nursing experts to be of particular importance to this patient.
