Math Grades are broken down into three categories:
Homework will be 30% (daily assignments)
Assessments will be 60% (chapter and lesson tests/quizzes)
Participation will be 10% ( 5 points per week; students must check in daily)
Also remember the 8th grade has a late policy as well (see homework page).
I expect you to visit the 8th grade team web page daily to check for updates and assignments. All assignments will be posted in the Team page but you must go to Google classroom to get all the details. You will be given a math book for home use; however we will be using our chromebooks in class for the online book for the most part. Please make sure your Chromebook is fully charged at the beginning of the day.
All Algebra students must have a B average to move onto Geometry as a freshman; Pre-Algebra students must have a C average to move onto Algebra I.
All assignments will be posted in the 8th grade Team page but you must go to Google classroom to get all the details. Find your class, Pre-algebra or Algebra and click on the link to my streaming (live) classroom. Let me know if you need any help finding all these things.
You will need to meet with me via Google Classroom on a weekly basis. These are your participation points. I will give you a day and time that is convenient for you.
Pre-algebra students you should link at 10:45-11:45 am.
Algebra students you should link at 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
I know that this is a non-traditional school year; but think of it as history in the making! Let's make it the best possible!!
