Welcome to 8th Grade Math!

I am very excited to be your math teacher this year! My goals this year are to challenge you academically and help you grow personally, all while being your number one supporter along the way. 

This is my 13th year teaching and 12th year in the district. I previously taught 6th grade math here at OMS and spent three years at the high school teaching Algebra 1, Intermediate Algebra, Trigonometry & Pre-Calculus. This is my 4th year teaching 8th grade math. I love making connections and strive to be a lifelong learner, and I hope to inspire you this year as well. In math this year we will extend on previous knowledge, learn new concepts, and build a solid foundation in the fundamentals of mathematics so you are ready for high school math.

My husband, Bryce and I have a strong tie to Orion - we are both graduates of Orion and live in the district. Bryce works for Rock Valley Physical Therapy and serves as the trainer at OHS. You will see us at many of the extracurricular events!

After Orion, I continued my education at Augustana College where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education. I then went back to school online through American College of Education where I received my Masters in Educational Leadership. Bryce and I have three children - Braxton (7), Maddox (5), and Kinsley (4). Life is crazy with three little ones - but it's a lot of fun! In my free time I love spending time with my family, being outdoors, shopping, and traveling. This summer we went to Florida, Wisconsin Dells, and North Carolina!
