Campus Activities and leadership positions

With the many clubs I joined at the University of Idaho, I have had great exposure to attending various conferences and events associated with them. I have also had the pleasure of serving as leadership in a handful of these clubs.

SWE (Secretary 2019-2021)

I am currently an active member of the University of Idaho's Society of Women Engineers chapter and previously served as the secretary of the club.

GCSC (Secretary Fall 2020-Spring 2021)

I am currently an active member of the Grand Challenge Scholars Club at the University of Idaho and previously served as the secretary of the club.

Alpha Gamma Delta (Vice President Campus Relations Spring 2020-Fall 2020)

I am currently in my final year of active collegiate membership of the Delta Theta chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and previously served as the chapter's vice-president campus relations whose job is to connect members of our chapter to organizations and activities around campus. I was also our chapter's representative at our campus's Panhellenic-wide gatherings.

Idaho Panhellenic Association (Executive Vice President Fall 2020-Fall 2021)

I served as the Idaho Panhellenic Association's executive vice president 2020-2021. My job consisted of updating and upholding the Panhellenic's council bylaws, instituting risk management policies to cover all sororities in our jurisdiction, and completing the job of the president in her absence.

Across all these campus involvement roles and leadership positions, some of the most important things that I have learned include how to manage my time well and maximize my abilities across multiple tasks, how to have difficult conversations with community members for the overall benefit of the larger organization, the importance of keeping my documents, in a tidy and legible manner so that anyone who needs access to my work will understand what is going on and also the importance of knowing my limits; all skills that are important for an aspiring engineer and scientist.

INBRE

I previously assisted with research in the Neurophysiological Imaging and Modeling Labs (NIML) under Dr. Martin’s supervision and in partnership with medical device companies received money to conduct research on the cerebrospinal fluid.

I was accepted into the summer 2021 Fellows program where I worked as an industry intern at Alcyone Therapeutics. My work over the summer culminated in a literature metanalysis on the neurodevelopmental disease, Rett syndrome, the results of which were presented at the INBRE 2021 annual conference in Moscow, Idaho.
