I was always curious about what silos are and why they matter in the workplace and learned that silos are not only structures that store grains or other materials; but also ways of describing how some people or groups in an organization work in isolation from others. Usually, it causes a lot of problems, such as wasting time and resources, creating conflicts and misunderstandings, and missing out on opportunities for improvement and innovation. There are ways to break down these silos and foster more collaboration and communication among different teams or units which included forming cross-functional teams, communicating regularly and openly, sharing knowledge and best practices, and rewarding and recognizing collaborative efforts.
I wonder if you have any experience or thoughts on working in or out of silos. Feel free to connect and share what differently you did to kill the silo Click here!
