Ollie L. Jefferson, Ph.D., began teaching during her youth in Southern California at the Pentecostal Prayer Tower Church of Deliverance, founded by her grandmother, Pastor Eddie B. Lanehart, and ordained by Bishop Dr. Ollie Mae Tyler. Dr. Jefferson's ministry was born from a legacy of women preachers, and Bishop Tyler frequently referred to her as "namesake" at fellowships in Los Angeles. Dr. Jefferson remembers the words and wisdom of ministry leaders while equipping teachers and students as the founder of Jesus' "Little Blessings" Ministry, Passage 4 Parents, and Training Wills, which merged with Timeless Visual Works Academy.

Her volunteer services to the community involve feeding the hungry, which include preparing and distributing nutritious meals to those without food or homeless. She has counseled and prepared living arrangements for those residing in homeless shelters and requiring emergency assistance. Individuals are also visited and assisted on the streets, door-to-door, incarcerated, in hospitals, and residing in nursing homes. Dr. Jefferson is doing the work of an evangelist in communities while teaching and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Dr. Ollie L. Jefferson is an inspiring teacher invited to speak at events such as the Daughters of the King Conferences. She has taught biblical and theological studies at faith-based organizations, which include the King's Christian Academy, Riverdale Baptist School, Friendship Church Outreach Ministry, and First Baptist Church of Glenarden.
Dr. Ollie L. Jefferson served as a contributing writer and ministry leader for Vision, Vision Kids, Grace, and Gracia magazines. She was appointed as an Editorial Board Member and Vice President of Processing for Vision and Vision Kids magazines, which are published as a resource to share testimonies and spotlight outstanding service in the community. Her leadership initiatives as Chaplain of Grace and Gracia magazines included designing the website to support the ministry's mission to empower women spiritually.
Dr. Jefferson is a businesswoman who supported the network of entrepreneurs to discover business opportunities at the Christian Business Institute. She is a recipient of the First Lady Award for building successful businesses—Timeless Visual Works and Training Wills Christian Child Care Development Center, a licensed program regulated by the Maryland State Department of Education.

Ollie L. Jefferson, Ph.D., participated in the University of Maryland at College Park Do Good Institute, which is a part of the learning community of select professors to incorporate social impact, civic discourse, and democratic pedagogy into the students’ lessons. Her communication students were encouraged to recognize, understand, and act upon their responsibility to work with others, address issues in the public sphere, and advance the common good. The Program Manager of the Do Good Institute visits classrooms each semester and sent Dr. Jefferson the following comment after observing her class:
"I would love to hear about how you prepare your students because in the two years I've observed 20+ different COMM sections/group presentations, those were probably the best I've seen. Wow! Thorough, engaging, well-informed, well-spoken."
Howard University Cathy Hughes School of Communications
As the First Vice President, Professor Ollie L. Jefferson planned and executed all details of the Maryland Communication 34th Annual Conference, hosted by Howard University's Cathy Hughes School of Communications. Her responsibilities included, but were not limited to, selecting the theme of media education and the current president of the National Communication Association as the keynote speaker. This sold-out academic conference engaged communication professionals, students, and faculty attendees in intellectual conversation concerning the media and society. As a member of the Howard University Graduate Student Council, she also assisted in fundraising activities for the Communication, Culture, and Media Studies Graduate Student Organization.

Professor Ollie L. Jefferson (joined with her students) served in an advisory capacity aimed at engaging stakeholders in efforts to generate funding for Prince George's Community College through the sponsorship of seats at the Queen Anne Building, Lanham Hall, and the New Culinary Arts Center. Take A Seat: Capital Project Subcommittee Members strategically planned and conceptualized a marketing campaign that supported the college. The action plan encouraged college alumni, students, employees, and the community to join #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and celebrate generosity worldwide.
