While creating the 3-5 Day Unit Plan, we were asked in EDJH to complete a rough draft that would be added onto here, as well as emailed to our mentor teacher. Feed forward will be given back on the first draft to see where improvements need to be made, etc. Below is the attached rough draft unit plan.
Here is my 3-5 day Lesson Plan first Rough Draft:

A few of the constructive Feedback from my EDJH instructor that I have reworked:
I have incorporated these areas of feedback into my 3-5 Day Lesson Plan
reconstructing my central focus and how I will assess, along with use students prior knowledge.
The transferability skill was reconstructed to be more defined/ why it is relevant.
Reconstructing my big idea instead of having a broad approach. Changed to connecting the past and present.
Fixing my Learning Targets because they were not developed and measurable.
Be more specific with how I will measure student learning.
List academic vocab and key facts directly from the standards used.
Discourse, function, syntax.
Function: compare/contrast
Discourse: interpreting graphic representations (maps, images, etc)
Syntax: sentences and summarization using academic vocabulary
Informal assessments.
Be more specific!!!
Below I am attaching my 3-5 Day Lesson Plan that I have taught to my sixth graders at Southside Middle School. The lesson plan has all of the materials used attached.
Lesson Plan: SS Lesson Plan Template 2022 Final .docx
Below I am attaching several of my students work on their final assessment. The class period was shortened to 30 minutes instead of the regular 50 minutes due to Thanksgiving Break. Several students struggled to complete the criteria expected of them in the shortened amount of time, while other students finished with time remaining. The entire class period I was walking around the room assisting students who were struggling or encouraging students to think more, to explain more, to try and reach that next level.
The Summative Assessment had been shortened in expectation that students would be able to complete it in the 30 minutes. I can see where some students struggled to finish their project and where others finished easily. I realized parts of the assignment that should be revised and changed for future lesson plans.
Here are some examples of the students work for their summative assessment. These are combined from students in 2nd and 3rd period.
You can see where the first student was able to attempt the written response portion of the assessment. The next several students show a range of understanding and comprehension of the work.
The timeline where the student is able to draw a picture and is able to connect their understanding and write a speech blurb with their drawing shows some mastery in the content.
Formative Assessments Throughout the Lesson
Below contains the different assessments students were asked to complete. The only one not shown are the exit tickets on days where students were to discuss their notes, or show me their notes they had taken for the class period.
