For this assignment, we were placed into groups with peers attending the same schools for practicum. I was placed in a group of peers who all attended different schools because there were no other individuals at the schools in our section of the class. For this assignment, we were to identify one problem that we noticed that our school was facing, either in regards to technology, finding, teacher shortages/ pay, extracurricular programs, etc. We were to discuss these issues with our peers and without mentor teachers/ administration. After the problem was identified, we were to research and identify grants that applied to our problem and that could help with funding. We are to propose a solution to the problem using data collected through interviews, research, and observations. This will be turned into a podcast and shared with the schools. The podcast included:
Describe the problem you observed and why your group felt the need to address it.
Provide necessary background information for the school to give context to the listeners to understand the problem more in-depth.
Discuss the data collection process.
Discuss your solution to the issue, citing which grants (if any) you will choose to solve the problem.
The problem that we identified that correlated within all of our differing schools was the need to integrate updated technology to increase digital literacy and resources for student use/differentiation. We created a list of solutions, risks, and different types of technology that would be beneficial to the schools and the students compared to what they have now.
Below is the attached Google Doc that has the outline, notes, and research for our podcast. The podcast video itself is uploaded as an mp3 and that format will not convert to a link.
