During this semester at Burris Laboratory School, I was able to teach several lessons independently. These lessons were separate from the main unit plan (week long) lesson I taught for students and for EdTPA. The remainder of the semester I was involved in the classroom as a co-teacher with my mentor teacher. This was a really great experience because I was able to be teaching, involved in answering questions for students, and helping them with their independent research projects (in Sociology) that are due at the end of the semester. I have helped explain the Scientific Method for students and students worked in groups to figure out what each section meant, while my mentor teacher and I asked questions and then began helping students find a topic, cumulate the method they would be using for their research, and then helped students write their Literature Review. Students needed lots of help with finding sources, how to write a Literature Review, and then how to incorporate this into their research papers. This is what I have been doing for the last two-three weeks of practicum.
Below I will upload the lessons plans I wrote for the smaller single lessons and then I will also incorporate, the materials I used.
Content Analysis of Criminality in Sociology
Above is the guidelines for students in order to complete the necessary steps/parts of the assignment. Students will have two class periods to complete this assignment. Students are to work independently. Students are in the unit of Media and Technology from a Sociological standpoint. Students are also incorporating Deviance into the assignment, which students spent several weeks learning about.
I am also attaching the Content Analysis of Criminality that I created as a model for students to reflect upon.
Bureaucracy
Here are the resources and lesson plan I have created for this lesson.
Students read aloud in class and were given the key terms to identify. Students were given examples and then read parts of the textbook chapter. Students then did a Cartoon Analysis for the remainder of the class, followed by students discussing their answers. Students also discussed the political cartoon (s) they focused on in their group.

Media and Video Games
I used https://openstax.org/ for some content background and as a guide to this lesson.
Here I am attaching the presentation I created for students and there is a video, images, and a brain break for students, along with questions students would be asked throughout the lessons. At the end of the lesson, I had students complete a short research activity.
My mentor teacher was gracious and provided me with feedback for my lesson which I will be attaching below. The feedback assesses my strengths and weaknesses and provides thoughtful insights into how I am doing during my time in practicum.
