Brief History of Covid-19

Covid-19 started to occur at the end of 2019 in Wuhan, China. Over the course of 2019-2020, COVID-19 soon affected the whole world, making it into a pandemic (for more information about pandemics click here) and causing the world to shut their borders and to go into isolation.

What is Covid-19?

Covid-19 is a type of Corona Virus that was first discovered in December 2019, hence the name. It started in Wuhan, China and has spread globally ever since. Because it spreads through the air, most people have been quarantined or have self isolated themselves. It has affected the world and has a worse mortality rate than the flu. As of March 3, the World Health Organisation estimated that the mortality rate was 3.4%. This is very high compared to less than 1% for the Flu. Click here for more information on the pandemic.

Vaccines

At the time of writing (14 March 2020) there is no vaccine to this virus. Although many might work, nothing has arisen from many people's research and experiments.

Advice

The official advice for South Australia is linked here.

The advice that has been given out by the South Australian Government (where the authors originate) is to practice good hygiene and maintain social distancing measures. This is similar all around the world. To maintain hygiene, wash your hands frequently, washing for 20 seconds each time and wherever you are, please stop the spread.
