Managed to learn how to become a backend developer, focusing on the tasks they are working on. It also allows students to practice and improve their skills, which will be useful to the different tasks they must perform some of these are problem-solving skills and communication within your team. Next is work ethics; because we are doing our on-the-job training in a company, we are gaining knowledge of what the real world looks like. We learn how to be more accountable for the tasks we must complete. Also, because of our coworkers, we are learning how to become more professional as individuals. Finally, as student trainees, we had the best opportunity. Since the pandemic, some companies have refused to provide on-the-job training because they require employees to be on-site, but in our case, this is not applicable because we must work from home, making it difficult to find. But I am grateful for the experience I gained while working for the company, as it taught me a lot not only about my profession, but also about myself and life.
The most remarkable event for me is the moment we assigned as a backend developer as it refreshes and enhance my knowledge about programming. Here, I experience and learned how to code using PHP language and managing database using MySQL.
I am grateful for the opportunity provided by the UIP to learn about working as a backend developer. This enabled me to assess whether I was a good fit for this type of work and whether I could improve my coding skills. My newfound knowledge and expertise will be invaluable in my future career. UIP may have a brighter future in terms of managing their ojt students; however, I hope that there are more professional people working in the company who will guide and manage those interns in their work. Also, UIP should provide an on-site training soon to develop a first hand experience that will be beneficial for interns to learn more because of this.
