Prevention means stopping something from happening or making it less likely. Bullying prevention is when people promote kindness and respect to create safer, healthier communities.
~What Bullying Looks Like~
Keep Communication Open – Encourage kids to talk about their day. Let them know bullying is not their fault and they should tell a trusted adult.
Look for Warning Signs – Watch for changes in mood, avoiding school, lost items, or unexplained injuries.
Teach Confidence – Show kids how to stand tall, speak firmly, and walk away from bullies.
Monitor Online Activity – Check their social media, set privacy controls, and teach them not to share personal info.
Encourage Friendships – Help them build strong friendships by joining clubs, sports, or activities.
Involve the School – Report bullying to teachers or administrators. If it gets serious, contact authorities.
Be a Role Model – Show kindness and respect, and teach kids to stand up for others.
Help Them Cope – Teach healthy ways to deal with stress, like talking, exercising, or doing hobbies. Remind them bullying is about the bully, not them.
