Dear OHVA Families,
At Ohio Virtual Academy, the safety and well-being of our students is always our top priority. We believe every child deserves to learn, grow, and connect in an environment where they feel secure, valued, and supported.
As part of our continued commitment to student safety and success, we are introducing our Care and Response Team. This is a proactive, prevention-focused approach used to identify and support students who may be experiencing stress, conflict, or emotional challenges — before concerns grow.
This is not a disciplinary program.
It is a care-centered system built to:
Support students who may be struggling socially or emotionally
Strengthen communication between school and families
Encourage students to speak up when they have concerns
Provide timely help, resources, and connection to services when appropriate
Maintain a safe, positive learning environment
Our goal is to partner with families to support students early and effectively. When a concern is shared, our team works collaboratively with the students and family to understand the situation and create a safety and support plan if needed. Most plans focus on things like counseling support, check-ins, learning strategies, or connection to additional services — all designed to help students succeed.
