Concussion awareness certificate

Ohio law requires that all officials complete a Concussion awareness certificate. This "concussion certificate" must be on file with any and all assignors who assign you matches.

This direct link will access the CDC  concussion awareness certificate and will make a copy available in Ohio North's The Arbiter assigning platform. www.brainshark.com/arbitersports/USSFConcussion

Ohio North is moving to Arbiter Sports for assigning

December 2023: The Ohio North State Referee concluded a very long and thorough search process and selected Arbiter Sports to take over the assigning for Ohio North. Referees should find updates in the recertification courses beginning in January of 2024. Several trainings will be offered for assignors as well as for referees and parents of referees.

Posting of licensed assignors

Assignor Policy

Assignors are licensed by US Soccer and registered through Ohio North and not through any district, league or local referee association. Assignors cannot discriminate against a registered referee because of race, religion, national origin, sex or membership in a local referee association. Age should only be a factor when the league mandates a minimum age difference between players and referees. Registered assignors will be given a list of all referees registered with Ohio North.

Unauthorized disclosure of a registered referees list

State Referee Administrators may furnish lists of referees only to state associations, registered assignors, affiliated leagues or tournaments for conducting their soccer related activities. These lists may not be made available to anyone else (including soccer related businesses) for a fee or free of charge. (2010 Administrative Handbook page 34)
