Education is central to all the Ocean Action Project’s preservation efforts. The best way to fight for the protection of our oceans and beaches, after all, is to raise awareness about the issues and engage with the communities impacted by those issues. By interacting with families, students of all ages, industry representatives, and local community boards, the OAP seeks to educate the public on the issues affecting our oceans and increase public support and participation through initiatives such as:
Organizing field trips to shores and beaches for elementary, middle, and high school students
Distributing educational resources to schools, libraries, and other public places
Sponsoring traveling lecture series on important preservation issues
Providing workshops featuring tips on preservation and sustainability to popular beach communities
