Registration is a two-step process. Please follow the steps carefully to ensure your player is registered correctly.
This is very important! You are not registered if you have not completed both steps.
It should only take approx 5 mins to register.
STEP ONE: Register your player through the school Kindo site and pay your OJSC Netball fee
Kindo (https://shop.tgcl.co.nz/shop/q2.shtml)
STEP TWO: Register your player with Netball Taranaki (https://www.sporty.co.nz/viewform/221010) ( there is no fee for this step). All players must be registered with Netball Taranaki to be able to play.
KINDO NOTE:
Instructions for KINDO can be found here if you are unfamiliar with how to use Kindo.
You need to select OJSC, it does not matter if you are from another school you are joining up to OJSC. Instructions found in the link above will explain better how you do that, as it can sometimes be hard to find if you have not previously linked your child to OJSC. You do that under My kindo, my details in top right corner of Kindo.
REMINDER: Registration closes Monday 25th February 2025 at 10am.
Further Information:
Once registration closes, players will be sorted into teams, coaches/managers assigned and players will be advised.
Teams will practice each week subject to coaches discretion and availability. Volunteers are always needed/welcomed for all age/ grades and we will be requesting parent help. Further information below regarding games dates and game info.
Please join OJSC Facebook page and like Netball Taranaki Facebook page for updates.
Please contact Hailey Foster-Ander (hailey.foster@gmail.com) if you have any questions.
Scoring App - Years 7 & 8 use an online scoring app. We require 2 volunteers per team to share responsibility for scoring for their child's team. The app is very straight forward and easy to use.
Umpires - Each team requires a registered umpire on game day. This is typically a parent or an umpire which the team organises and provides. There may be an extra fee involved if the team decides to organise their own external umpire to pay. OJSC will host an umpire session to help assist with anyone wanting to learn more.
Information on the draws, results, timing and location of games can be found each week on Netball Taranaki's website (http://www.netballtaranaki.org.nz/).

The focus for this age group is on learning the basics with players joining in a skill development session prior to a modified netball game of 5 v 5, using two-thirds of a netball court. It’s designed to be fast and fun, maximising participation and touches of the ball.

The focus is on continued ‘learning’ of netball as Junior players will have an increased enthusiasm to learn but still want to have fun and experience the game with their friends.
Netball continues to be modified for this age group but there is the first introduction of 6 v 6 game play. This involves full court play with relaxed umpiring. The focus is on player rotation to prevent early specialisation of positions. Players are continuing to develop both physically, technically and socially so it is important to give them the opportunity to play a wide range of positions on the court, regardless of their physical attributes. Players should have lots of touches of the ball and be actively involved to best develop their skills.

These players are transitioning from ‘learning’ to ‘participating’ in Netball (7 v 7 game). Players have a wide range of skill levels and aspirations as they develop at differing rates. Enjoyment and fun are still key drivers for participation, but at the same time performance, challenge and improvement are often key motivators. To ensure players have the opportunity to apply their skills and stay motivated, competitive events are recommended but the emphasis is still on improving rather than winning.
