From Dar es Salaam it takes only 6 hours to drive to Mikumi park.

Mikumi is a nice park 3 hours west from Morogoro.

This trip is special for you if you do not have the time to visit the great parks west from Arusha.

Day 1:

You will be fetched in safaricars in Dar es Salaam or Bagamoyo very early in the morning. (5 o' clock). You'll drive to Mikumi and will have a morning tea break at a restaurant close to Morogoro where you pay yourself for a little second breakfast.

Then drive for evening safari in Mikumi National park.

You'll stay in the park at a camp site and there will be served a very nice swahili dinner in the tent area just in the middel of the park.

Day 2 :

Morning safari after which you'll leave the park back to Dar es Salaam.

This trip is very convenient, if you're planning to go home with an evening plane. The safari cars can drive you directely to the airport so you can checkin at around 5 pm at Nyerere Airport. If your checkin is later the morning safari will be longer.
