Vermont Licensure Portfolio

All teacher candidates seeking initial licensure must complete and pass a Vermont Licensure Portfolio (VLP). This page is designed to provide VTSU students seeking licensure with resources related to the VLP.

Our licensure programs are designed to support students in building their VLP over time to allow for space for reflection and revision. For teacher education, the sequence looks like this: You build Part 1 in EDU 3311/ Foundations of Inclusive Practice, Part III in EDU 3440 Teaching Towards Democracy, and Part II in EDU 4650 Capstone Seminar (four Graduate students the sequence is similar, but in different courses). School counseling students build their VLP during their internship semester.

This state-wide website has instructions for completing the portfolio, as well as score sheets and rubrics. These resources are updated periodically by the state-wide committee, EPIC, that oversees the maintenance and development of the VLP.

Board of Reviewers

Each VTSU Vermont Licensure Portfolio is reviewed by two reviewers. Our review board is composed of teachers, administrators, and NVU faculty and staff. Serving on the board includes a training session and a small stipend. If you are interested in serving on NVU's Board of Reviewers, please contact Rebecca.Pastor@NorthernVermont.edu

All Vermont pre-service educators seeking licensure must complete and pass a Vermont Licensure Portfolio. At VTSU, our students use a digital tool called Digication to construct their portfolios.

If you are a student or Review Board member and have not been set up with a Digication login, please contact Rebecca.Pastor@vermontstate.edu to set up an account.
