Visa Information
Who needs to apply?
If you plan to stay in Taiwan for more than 90 days, you will need to apply for a Visitor visa.
Duration of stay: 60 days or 90 days
Extendable during your enrollment.
Must NOT have "no extension" remarks
maybe extend once to twice (due to your visa duration), the maximum duration stay is 180 days.
If your duration will less than 90 days, you may enter Taiwan in this way:
Visa-exempt Entry (Please make sure your country is applicable)
NOTE: Visa-exempt entry will NOT be able to extend or change visa types in Taiwan. You must leave and re-enter Taiwan to renew (except for British & Canadian citizens).
(Strongly recommended to apply for a Visitor visa if you need to stay longer than 90 days.)

How to apply?
Getting Your Admission Letter issued by NTU BEST PROGRAM
We will send you your admission letter after your application has been accepted.
Submit your application on Visa application system, choose General Visa Applications.
*Required documents:
NTU BEST Program Team Admission Letter
Passport(Valid for more than 6 months)
Study plan: describing your motive and plan for studying Chinese
Proof of financial support: proof of banking account balance or foreign remittance
Two 2'x2" photos in color with a white background (taken within the last 6 months)

Where you will be applying for your visa - which area and embassy: Please check for yourself the one closest to your ROC Embassy.
Visitor Visa Extension
CLD: Apply online via CLD website for your Certificate of Enrollment and Record of Attendance.
ICLP: Please check with ICLP office.
Bring these documents and your passport to the National Immigration Agency one week before your visa expires to apply for an extension.
Reminder: Please check your expiration date on the visa page by checking your ''duration of stay'' but not ''EnterBefore'', you have to count your visa expiration date by yourself. The ''EnterBefore'' means that you can enter before the date and your visa will be counted on the second day after your arrival in Taiwan.
For those who stay for more than three months
Apply for a resident visa at the Bureau of Consular Affairs
Bring the documents to the Bureau of Consular Affairs to apply for a resident visa in the fourth month: Resident Visas for Studying Mandarin Chinese
Apply for ARC within 15 days
Once you have obtained your resident visa, please go to the National Immigration Affairs application system within 15 days to change your residence visa to an ARC (Alien Resident Certificate).
