To qualify for the NTHU BEST Scholarship Program, students must meet the following requirements in terms of
Mandarin learning:
Attend a minimum of 15 hours of Mandarin classes per week.
Classes are offered by the Chinese Language Center (CLC) at NTHU.
⏰ Morning: 9:10–12:00
⏰ Afternoon: 13:30–16:20
Class schedules may vary depending on the student’s Mandarin proficiency level, classroom availability, and other administrative considerations.
All students will take a placement test upon enrollment to determine their proficiency level.
The placement test will be conducted using traditional Chinese characters. We understand this may not fully reflect your true proficiency, especially if you are more familiar with simplified characters. Therefore, class placement may be adjusted after attending one week of classes to better align with your learning needs.
Courses are divided into:
🔹 Elementary
🔸 Intermediate
🔺 Advanced
Each level includes multiple sub-levels for more personalized instruction.
