Be at least 18 years old.
Be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at one of our collaborating institutions:
(1) University of Illinois System (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign or University of Illinois Chicago)
(2) University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa
(3) Duke University
(4) University of Michigan
(5) The University of Auckland
(6) University of Liverpool
(7) Jagiellonian University
NOT hold Republic of China (R.O.C.) citizenship and NOT possess overseas Chinese student status at the time of application.
NOT currently be enrolled at a Mandarin training center in Taiwan, nor have previously been a degree-seeking student at any university or college in Taiwan.
NOT be an exchange student under a collaboration agreement between your university and NTHU.
NOT be currently receiving any other scholarship or financial subsidy from any government agency or educational institution in Taiwan, and have not previously received a Huayu BEST or UAAT Mandarin Program scholarship for more than 9 months.
