Gisselle founded the First Generation | Low Income Student (FGLI) Union in the Spring 2018. She served as a CNSOC Representative for FGLI during her term as President, and is well versed in the Caucus structure and mission.

"In the past year, advocating for the concerns of first-generation and low-income students has taught me the importance of building systems of support and resources. There are many gaps in the university's support of minority students— from food insecurity, to housing policies, to the responses to COVID-19. Northeastern needs to be held accountable for ensuring our equitable access to resources and quality of our holistic experience as students."
