The New Philadelphia Welty Middle School and High School is a four story school building on 5.63 acre site in a small town residential setting. It contains three gymnasium spaces and a fixed seat auditorium. The two entrances onto the site do not facilitate proper separation of bus and other vehicular traffic. Busses load and unload at the street. Adequate parking is not provided for staff, visitors, students, and the disabled. There are no athletic facilities provided on this site and it has been added to and renovated in 1913, 1925, 1925, 1958, 1962, and 1993.

Front Street Elementary is currently used as administrative offices. The facility is a three floor, school building located on 1.13 acre site. The site is shared with the district bus storage facility and is bordered by moderately traveled city streets. Two entrances are provided onto the site which are used for district administration parking and bus storage. The 1906 original construction is equipped with concrete foundation walls on concrete footings. The 1957 addition is equipped with concrete masonry unit foundation walls on concrete footings. Because this building is currently used as administrative offices, there are no existing classrooms, but uses the spaces for board meeting and other district uses.

Average classroom size of 860 sf does not meet the current Ohio School Design Manual guideline of 900 sf. Student dining shares the gymnasium space.
